LIVE: GOVERNOR MIKE SONKO RE-AFFIRMS BIG FOUR AGENDA COMMITMENT

Nairobi county governor Mike Sonko met Jeevanjee and Barchelors quarters estates representatives yesterday where he re-affirmed his commitment to have Nairobi take the lead in implementing President Uhuru Kenyatta’s affordable housing project in line with the country’s big Four Agenda.

Speaking during the meeting, Mike Sonko confirmed completion of the first affordable housing project in just ten months at Pangani, Nairobi.

Close to fifty cleared tenants after mandatory clearance have already received a coll Ksh 600,000 each to cater for the temporary allocation residence that will not exceed 12 months.

Meeting with representatives of Jeevanjee and Barchelors Quarters estates as we continue with implementation of the President Uhuru Kenyatta's affordable housing project under the Big Four agenda. My administration has already kicked the affordable housing project in Pangani estate where 1,500 housing units are being constructed the exercise is expected to be completed in the next 10 months. Already 48 tenants in Pangani estate have been issued with a cheque of Sh600,000 each for relocation to temporary residence for a period of less than 12 months.
